Leslie Norvin Rohr (born March 5, 1946) is a former baseball player for the New York Mets in the late 1960s. He was born in Lowestoft, England, where his father was serving with the United States Air Force. Six months later he moved to Billings, Montana with his family, where he grew up, attended high school, and currently lives.[1]
Rohr was selected in the first round (second pick overall) of the 1965 Major League Baseball Draft. He was a left-handed pitcher for the team.[1] Rohr's career came to an abrupt end as he pulled a tendon in his pitching arm during an April 15, 1968 game against the Astros. He spent the remainder of the season on the disabled list or back in the minor leagues. Rohr was never able to recover and it was later discovered, during a physical right before his trade to the Milwaukee Brewers was finalized, that he had a ruptured disc in his lower back.[2] His first game was on September 19, 1967 and his last game on September 19, 1969.[3][4]
